When developing our products, we specifically selected ingredients based on what benefit they can add to our formulations and if they are the best ingredient available to do that. 

We have therefore included silicones in the formulas where we felt they would be of benefit.  You can find light weight encapsulated Silicones in our Glass Hair and silicones in Super Hydrating Conditioner, where they add shine, smoothness and hydration to our formulas.  

Hair Proud only uses high performing silicones at appropriate inclusion levels and does not use any silicones whose environmental impact has been questioned or restricted in some regions. 

Yes, all products are sulphate and paraben free. We use alternative preservative ingredients that we find work better in our formulas.

You may think that seeing alcohol on the ingredient lists means the products are going to be ultra drying on the hair. However, there are two types of alcohols: drying alcohols and non-drying alcohols. Drying alcohols help other ingredients to be absorbed into the hair follicles, but can cause a loss of moisture. Non- drying alcohols are natural fatty alcohols, these are great for adding moisture, detangling and adding thickness to the product, they tend to be found in conditioners.  

Where we have used drying alcohols, we have kept them to a minimum and can be found in our conditioners, Hair Revival, Clean and Strong and All Inclusive.

Yes, all Hair Proud formulas are sulphate free.

If you need a bit of extra moisture Hydrate & Nourish is full of hydrating and conditioning actives like Hyaluronic Acid and Argan & Jojoba Oils.  

Sometimes curly and coily hair can show similar signs to damaged hair, this is because by nature curly and coily hair has cuticles which are lifting on the outside of the hair shaft, so we also recommend Revive & Repair as it helps to smooth hair, this is because by nature curly and coily hair has cuticles which lift on the outside of the hair shaft causing loss of moisture and weakening of the hair at the point of the curl.

Our Revive and Repair family would work well on oily hair, these formulas help to remove product build up, oils and dirt from the environment without stripping the essential oils from the scalp and hair. They contain Niacinamide which is great at helping to balance the oil levels on the scalp and reducing excess sebum.

Thin hair can be delicate and more prone to breakage or damage during brushing and styling our Revive and Repair range helps to provide long-term relief and recovery by helping to reduce breakage, strengthening, and smoothing the hair cuticle to leave hair feeling stronger and encourage hair to grow to its maximum length.

All our products are fully tested on real hair and there is nothing in the products that would affect wigs, extensions, glue. However, as there are a wide range of wigs/extensions available on the market, we recommend that you test and find products that work best on your specific wig/extensions.

At Hair Proud, scalp health and care is one of our key hair concerns.  

Our Hair Revival Leave in Scalp and Hair Moisturiser is designed to not only condition the hair but also work to improve the longer term health of the scalp’s microbiome and to combat dry hair.

Just like with skincare, everyone’s scalp behaves differently so we recommend that if your scalp is sensitive, it may be best to carry out a patch test before using the product.

Hair Proud products have not been developed specifically to be suitable for those with sensitive scalps therefore we recommend you carry out a patch test before using the product.  

Our Hair Revival spray is focused on the health of your scalp and it's microbiome which can be used as a preventative measure to dandruff by maintaining a healthy, clean and moisturised scalp. However, dandruff can occur because of multiple reasons and if you have ongoing symptoms of dandruff we recommend using a dandruff care product or in severe cases seek medical advice.

Hair Proud bottles and tubes are made from 30% PCR material and our packaging is widely recyclable! The only elements which are not recyclable kerbside are sprays and pumps and we're always on the lookout for new ways to make these elements recyclable.
